***** Blowing forth from the Tampa Bay area flows the overwhelming Big Band sound of the Charly Raymond Orchestra. His success as a remarkable trumpet player and band leader can be attributed to his education and diversified background. Charly studied with Carmine Caruso in NYC and was 1st trumpet/solo cornet at the University of New Hampshire, where he played in the Wind Ensemble , Brass Quintet, Symphony Orchestra and earned his degree in music in 1971. ***** As a band leader and trumpet player in Boston (1971-1980), he performed in night clubs, dinner theaters, and top 40 show bands. He has accompanied many celebrity entertainers including Charo, Bobby Rydell, Connie Haines, Eddie Fisher, Little Anthony, The Four Lads and Joanne Castle. Extending further in his career, Charly spent three years as band leader/MC/soloist at the Innisbrook Resort in Tarpon Springs, Florida. ***** For the past ten years, between landside engagements, he has been a featured performer/entertainer on most major cruise lines world wide. Connie Haines compares Charly's technique on the trumpet with that of the great Harry James, Clyde McCoy, Al Hirt and Doc Severinsen. Connie, who has appeared with many of the original big bands, says Charly is the equal of the great trumpet players. |
